Version 1.0.0 not released yet
Everything below is in the first version, which is being finished now. Release notes will start here once it's out.
14 October 2026
- Notes with mathematics. Markdown notes where formulas render as you type, with shortcuts for maths,
[[links]], #tags, and every definition and theorem gathered in one list.
- Revision cards.
Q: and A: lines in notes become cards, reviewed with spaced repetition, and exported to Anki.
- Reading papers. Attach a reference's PDF, highlight it, and the quote lands in your note on it with its page.
- Sketches drawn straight into a note, with pen pressure.
- Code in notes, highlighted in its language, with a copy button.
- Tables as a grid. Edit a
tabular like a spreadsheet, or paste one in from a spreadsheet.
- Errors in plain words, and an option to compile as you type.
- Version history of every file, kept at each save, without git.
- Check before submitting: missing citations and labels, unreferenced figures, stale results, what arXiv would reject.
- Zotero: cite straight from your library.
- Install LaTeX from inside the app, and import projects from Overleaf or git.
- Data files open as tables and a quick plot; notebooks can sit beside the paper.
- Sessions are restored, and a project exports as one plain-LaTeX zip for a journal.
- Scientific values with units and uncertainties, a live maths preview, symbols, references by DOI or arXiv ID.
- Highlighted text in the PDF can be found in the source.
- A short tour on first use, a new About window, and a copy of the PDF in one click.
13 October 2026
- The first build: an editor for LaTeX and Python notebooks, compiling to a PDF beside the source.
- Notebook figures and values flow into the paper with
\nbfig and \nbval.
- Tabs, a command palette, quick open, an outline, a git panel and a side pane.
- Vim keys, relative line numbers, spell check, a word count and a status bar.
- A real terminal, project templates, and its own icon.
